Only 14...

Fifth graders at Puesta del Sol Elementary learned about the Civil War. In fact, they got to act out the Civil War in their classrooms over a month time span. They were assigned ranks and organized into platoons. They even could dress up as a soldier if they choose to! What an awesome learning experience!
They also learned that freedom is not free...someone has to pay for it.
The United States of America's Military pays a hefty price for our freedom.
Much larger than most of us realize...
- births are missed
- first steps, first words, and many other "firsts" are missed
- anniversaries go uncelebrated
- birthdays go by
- weddings happen
- beloved family members are lost
All while a soldier is deployed protecting our rights, our freedom, and our safety.
These kids took a little time to just write a note to say THANK YOU!
As a veteran, this is a beautiful thing to see...
We collected $10 donations to provide our troops with Mary Kay SPF 30 Sunscreen and goody bags. And we collected a lot!

Now, we are packing our boxes for Soldiers' Angels to distribute to the troops.

There is only one, little problem...
There are 14.
14 unsponsored soldiers.
14 soldiers who won't read a thank you.
14 soldiers who won't know how much they mean to us.
14 soldiers who won't smile as they open their gift from us.
14 soldiers who are away from home, away from their families, missing out on all sorts of things.
Lets not let these 14 soldiers miss out on this...
Would you consider sponsoring one of the 14?
If so, please contact me today. Our package will leave the first business day of July.
Thank you!

Ever realize...

...your kids are growing up. Faster than you think. Really, every day they get just a little older. Learn something new. Do something new. Sing something new. Wear something new. Think something new. See something new. Start to form their own opinons.
Suddenly, I have realized my "baby", who will be 11 years old next month, has her own individual view of the world. She doesn't have the same thoughts I have, the same opinons I have, the same desires and dreams I have...
But I have only one prayer for her...that she share the same love for Jesus Christ as I do. In fact, I hope my love for Christ pales in comparison to her love for Him. I pray her days are spent running, wrecklessly, wildly, and passionately after Him...fully devoted, completely trusting, and utterly in love with our Lord and Savior.
Leah,
No matter what this world has to offer you, nothing can compare to knowing and having a relationship with Jesus...I consider my decision to accept Christ the best choice I have ever made. I pray you continue to grow your roots deep in God's word...nothing makes me prouder than knowing you've choosen to be His. I love you more than you can imagine.
I love you best,
I love you most,
I love you high,
I love you low,
I love you deep,
I love you wide,
I love you,
I love you,
I love you THIS >< MUCH!
Mama
