CHRISTmas...a new tradition

As we prepare for this CHRISTmas season, we have decided for future Christmases to change our traditional gift-giving to give gifts that are Christ-honoring...gifts fit for a king, THE King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our savior - Jesus Christ. The family (even the girls!) is super excited for this.

God has been prompting my heart for the last few years to rethink how we "do" CHRISTmas. I have found myself frustrated, burnt out, and overwhelmed shopping for gifts - getting to the point of just getting something to get someone marked off my list.  Please, tell me I'm not the only one???

During our family bible time, we read an AMAZING journal entry by Ann Voskamp about the JOY found underneath a Christmas tree...the tree empty of physical presents and the unexplainable gifts received as a result of giving to the least of these.

This might not be for everyone but it might be for you. Would you consider reading the journal entry and pondering the idea? Maybe even consider the idea for your family? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this...

I'm not sure what next CHRISTmas will look like but I can assure you it will be fit for the King.
