"encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God's grace for you." 1 Peter 5:12b
As I read this scripture this morning,I realized that wherever I am, I am living God's grace for me. I guess this feels especially relevant since a women who served in the Army at the same time I did, who was my age, with a husband & 5 beautiful children under 5, recently passed away as the result of a kidney stone. I realize it is more complicated than that but it's the basic reason.
Twice in the month of August, I was whisked off to the Emergency Room for treatment for kidney stones. This last trip could have been bad...really bad.
My pain was so high because my kidney was swollen because it was unable to drain itself. Blocked by a few stones. I insisted I could wait until the morning but my mom's medical wisdom pushed her to take me to the ER.
Who knows what would have happened if I had waited. A ruptured kidney? Would I have died?
All I know is that it was God's grace...that's what that was.
